Segments' Analysis
By System Type
Passenger oxygen system is expected to remain the largest segment during the forecast period. A higher number of passenger oxygen systems in an aircraft cabin than crew oxygen systems and a higher replacement rate are the major drivers for the aerospace oxygen systems market.
By Mechanism Type
In terms of mechanism type, the chemical oxygen system is expected to exhibit the fastest growth during the forecast period. The chemical oxygen system generally comprises sodium chromate (NaClO3) along with smaller amounts of other chemicals and converts these chemicals into oxygen flow when the source is activated. This system is installed in the overhead stowage bin above the passenger seat. The high growth in largely attributed to the FAA mandate on the use of the chemical oxygen system in the aircraft carrying more than 20 passengers.
Regional Insights
North America is expected to remain the largest market for aerospace oxygen systems during the forecast period. The manufacturing base of Boeing and Bombardier aircraft in the US & Canada and increasing commercial, regional, and general aviation fleet size are the major drivers for North American dominance in the global aerospace oxygen systems market.
The aerospace oxygen systems market in Asia-Pacific and the Rest of the World is relatively small since the oxygen systems are fitted during the final assembly of the aircraft and most of the major aircraft manufacturers have their assembly plants in North America and Europe. The Asia-Pacific market is mainly driven by production of commercial and regional aircraft in China and Japan and the demand of oxygen systems in the retrofit market.
